Who We Are

AeThex Foundation Inc. is a nonprofit organization incorporated in San Jose, California, operating at aethex.org. We build open-source creative technology infrastructure, digital education programs, and community governance tools.

What We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to operate our services:

• AeThex Passport: Your chosen handle or username when you create an account.
• Email address: Required for GameForge program applications and account communications.
• Discord ID: Collected only if you voluntarily link your Discord account.
• Usage analytics: We use Umami, a self-hosted, privacy-first analytics platform. No data is sent to third parties. We collect aggregate page views and referrer information only.
• Active visitor count: We track concurrent visitors using an anonymous session ID stored in your browser's local storage. This ID is not linked to any personal information.

What We Don't Collect

We do not sell your data. We do not use advertising networks. We do not embed any third-party trackers, pixels, or analytics. We do not collect payment information — all donations are processed by third-party payment processors under their own privacy policies.

COPPA Notice: AeThex Foundation Inc. does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. GameForge program applicants must be 13 years of age or older. If we discover that we have inadvertently collected data from a user under 13, we will delete that data promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted data to us, please contact us at privacy@aethex.org.

GDPR — EU Users

If you are located in the European Union, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

• The right to access the personal data we hold about you.
• The right to correct inaccurate data.
• The right to request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").
• The right to data portability.
• The right to object to processing.

CCPA — California Residents

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion of that information, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To submit a request, contact us at privacy@aethex.org.

Cookies

We use only essential session cookies required for authentication and site functionality. We do not set advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or any cookies from third-party ad networks. Our analytics platform (Umami) is cookieless by default.

Data Retention

Program application data (including GameForge applications) is retained for up to 2 years after submission. Analytics data is aggregated and anonymized — no individual records are retained after 90 days. Account data is retained for the duration of your account and deleted upon request.
