Terms of Service

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using any AeThex Foundation Inc. service — including aethex.org, AeThex Passport, GameForge, the AEGIS system, AeThex.dev, and all associated platforms — you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use our services.

Who Can Use AeThex Services

You must be 13 years of age or older to use any AeThex service or create an account. GameForge program participants must be 13 or older at the time of application. By creating an account or submitting an application, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

AeThex Passport

Your AeThex Passport handle is yours. We do not claim ownership of your username or any creative work you produce. The Passport is a verified identity layer — a way to establish and carry your reputation across AeThex-connected platforms. It is not a content hosting platform.

The Foundation reserves the right to reclaim handles that are impersonating real people, organizations, or AeThex-affiliated projects. Handles found to be in violation of the conduct policy may be suspended or revoked.

GameForge

Participation in GameForge cohorts is subject to the cohort agreement provided at the time of acceptance. GameForge credentials — including Forge Certified designations — are earned through demonstrated work and cannot be purchased. The Foundation reserves the right to revoke credentials for violations of the conduct policy or cohort agreement.

Projects created during GameForge cohorts remain the intellectual property of their creators unless an explicit agreement states otherwise.

Open Source Licensing

AeThex platform code is licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License v3 (AGPL v3). AeThex SDKs and tooling are licensed under the MIT License. Documentation and educational content is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 (CC BY-SA 4.0). Your own projects built using AeThex tools and platforms are yours — we make no claim to your work.

Prohibited Conduct

The following are prohibited on all AeThex platforms:

• Harassment, threats, or targeted abuse of any person.
• Spam, unsolicited promotions, or repetitive disruptive content.
• Impersonation of any person, organization, or AeThex entity.
• Using AeThex platforms for commercial purposes without a valid Corp agreement with the Foundation.
• Any activity that violates applicable law.

Violations may result in suspension, credential revocation, or permanent removal from AeThex platforms.

The AEGIS System

AEGIS clearance levels and credential status are assigned and managed by AeThex Foundation Inc. Clearance decisions are made by the Foundation based on contributions, conduct, and program participation. Decisions regarding clearance are final, subject to appeal to the Foundation Board. Appeals must be submitted in writing to legal@aethex.org.

Disclaimer: AeThex Foundation Inc. is a 501(c)(3) pending nonprofit organization. All services are provided as-is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We are a nonprofit running on limited resources and we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service availability. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Foundation shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of our services.

Changes to These Terms

We will notify the community on Discord (discord.gg/athx) before making any material changes to these Terms of Service. Continued use of our services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
